The club had an existing online shop. However, they were looking for a new fresh and easy to use site for their fans. It was critical for them to have a new site before the launch of their new home kit which meant that the project had to be delivered within 6 weeks. It was important that football kits could easily be personalised with fans names and make re-ordering simple.
PureNet were given the task of delivering a new fresh and powerful e-commerce site within the space of 6 weeks that was able to sell their range of over 1,000 products to existing and new fans.
The solution was built using PureNet’s WebPOS e-commerce platform allowing Birmingham City to manage products, campaigns, orders and customer details. Powerful product personalisation functionality was added to allow fans to design shirts before purchasing. WebPOS functionality was configured to integrate into their existing fulfilment processes.
The platform has the ability to manage the look and feel of the product pages and descriptions and includes a special offer promotions engine.
The solution took six weeks to design, build, test and deploy, within budget and certainly within the timescales.
Seconds after the site went live orders were being generated by fans. Within the space of 4 weeks Birmingham City Football Club saw a return on their investment and their revenues have grown ever since.
