Bullying UK is the nation's leading anti-bullying charity. Last year more than 500,000 visitors came to their website looking for advice and support. Since the charity was founded it has replied to more than 52,000 emails, 8,500+ of them last year.
Their work is featured widely in the UK national media and overseas and has won a number of high profile awards, including the Daily Mirror Pride of Britain Award 2005, the BT eWell-Being Award 2003 and the Big Issue Big Difference Award 2004.
CHALLENGE
Bullying UK needed to find additional ways to raise funds and awareness of Bullying in the UK. They asked PureNet to develop an small e-commerce solution that would help them sell information packs and other products to schools and teachers to promote anti-bullying.
SOLUTION
The solution was built using PureNet’s WebPOS e-commerce platform allowing Bullying UK to manage products and orders. The small scale solution used a subset of the available functionality within WebPOS giving the charity full control over managing the look and feel of products, categories and orders. The inbuilt Web Tracking and Site Metrics tools allows Bullying UK to track visitor numbers, visitors paths, orders taken and various trends to help them understand the behaviour of their visitors.
The site gets a significant amount of traffic and the WebPOS e-commerce platform's high-performance architecture has been designed to cope with the high volume of visitors the site attracts.
The solution took two weeks to design, build, test and deploy, within budget and certainly within the timescales.
