The Client

Argos is a well-known British retailer operating in the UK and Ireland. It is one of the largest high street retailers online in the UK and has 737 stores and 340 million website visits a year. PureNet worked closely with Argos to deliver a seamless third party product integration.

The Challenge

Argos wished to incorporate a third party product set into its website. However it wished to avoid the fulfilment and stock management of these products from its own centralised warehousing supply chain.

PureNet worked with Argos and the third party Vitamins, Minerals and Supplements (VMS) provider to deliver a solution.

What We Did

PureNet worked directly with the Argos team in Milton Keynes to deliver the solution. Through a process of embedded white labelling, PureNet implemented product feeds from the centralised product database, taking stock, product descriptions and images and surfacing them on the website. To the user, there was a joined up experience with the basket order being processed by the customer as if entirely on the website.

However, when the order was placed it went off to a third party fulfilment house based in the Channel Islands. They were able to pick, pack and dispatch the order using Argos packaging and send directly to the customer. All payments taken were reconciled through a separate feed.

PureNet provided the product management system and the interfaces with Argos to allow the products to be displayed accurately on the website.

The Results

  • The system allowed Argos to seamlessly provide a range of VMS products
  • The cost and logistical outlays of Agros managing the stock themselves were eliminated

“The PureNet Solutions Architect team worked closely with Argos to ensure integrations were seamless. We are proud to have worked with such a well-known British retailer.”
