The company operates a successful bricks and mortar store near York providing a range of quality wines, champagnes and spirits to suit all budgets. Field & Fawcett came to PureNet determined to create an online store that reflected the many sides of their unique specialty wines and spirits business, with a particular emphasis on enabling their customers from further afield to buy online.
A single ecommerce shopping basket was needed to allow the purchase of products across the site. The platform needed to be able to incorporate the first of a growing list of features and be scalable to service the needs of the company’s many hotels, restaurants and individual customers’ changing requirements.
Field & Fawcett’s website provides a full ecommerce shopping experience, where the company’s customers can visit and browse the product catalogue, add products to their basket and checkout quickly and easily.
The site runs an ecommerce system powered by PureNet’s award-winning content management system (CMS), which allows largely non-technical managers to maintain the website with minimum effort.
The system allows Field & Fawcett to develop custom enhancements to website behaviour to include changes to order information, product availability and user reviews.
Different product categories also represented distinct opportunities to address user behaviour and requirements. In the case of wines, a class-leading product filter lets customers sort by price, wine type, country of origin, bottle size and alcohol content. In addition, visitors can learn more information about the wine they’re looking to purchase before choosing the one that is right for them.
