The Client

Magazine Subscriptions is operated by ThreePM, the UK’s foremost online subscription marketing agents for magazines and newspapers for one of the world’s leading independent publishers, Dennis Publishing. With more than 150 clients publishing titles including Cosmopolitan, Maxim and Time Magazine, the ThreePM group of websites sell over 3,000 subscriptions online each week.

The Challenge

The magazine subscription site needed to reflect ThreePM’s passion for publishing, with clear cover images and logos featured throughout the site, to give it a more user-friendly ‘newsstand’ feel and ensure that visitors would be immediately familiar with their offering. New promotional areas were required within the site to provide publishers with greater opportunities to promote exclusive offers, special promotions and new title launches.

What We Did

The site features a range of online magazine subscription deals and a dedicated newspaper and international magazines area. The technology behind the site is designed to allow ‘content’ to sit alongside functionality facilitating the combined nature of the site.

The introduction of a digital preview via Flipbook, Zineo and iTunes within each publication’s dedicated product page allows customers the opportunity for deeper browsing during the decision making process without having to leave the site.

Other fresh elements include a comparison matrix within the site for customers to compare and save on a huge range of magazines and offers.

An innovative ‘site builder’ incorporated into the site’s content management system (CMS) allows ThreePM to rapidly build and deploy white label sites sharing the Magazine Subscriptions website template, with minimum involvement from PureNet’s developers to deploy bespoke, vanilla, micro- and category sites.


The Results

  • Dennis Publishing reported customer satisfaction ratings have increased
  • The new solution’s transaction values are up 11%
  • Since launch monthly unique visitors are up an average of 30%
  • Conversion rate more than doubled in the first two months of go live
